Chikushi no Homare Shuzo is a brewery founded in the Meiji era, located in the Chikushi Plain, the largest granary in Kyushu where the Chikugo River flows. Inheriting the soul and skills of the founder, they continue small-batch production by traditional handmade methods.
Jojima Town is a leading sake brewing district in Japan known as "Nada of the West, Jojima of the East," and Chikushi no Homare Shuzo is one of the breweries carrying that tradition. Using the rich water of the Chikugo River and high-quality rice of the Chikushi Plain, they practice sake brewing that maximizes the blessings of the region.
The brewery manufactures not only sake but also a variety of products using koji cultured in a 30°C koji room, such as amazake, miso, and Narazuke pickles. Also, for a limited time from May 15th to July 5th, they offer a reservation-only dining service where you can enjoy Chikugo River fish "Etsu" cuisine and sake in a tatami room, playing a role as a base for disseminating local culture.
They also participate in the Jojima Sake Brewery Opening held every February, which has now become a major event with 7 participating breweries: Asahikiku, Ikekame, Chikushi no Homare, Hiyokutsuru, Mannenkame, Mizuhonishiki, and Morinokura.
