Seigyoku Shuzo is a historic brewery founded in 1894 (Meiji 27), located in Fukushima, Tokushima City. The historic wooden architecture, which once functioned as the purveyor brewery for Lord Hachisuka of the Tokushima Domain, still remains and is designated as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan.
The name "Seigyoku" was named at the time of founding with the wish for the vigor ("Sei") of sake and beauty like a gem ("Gyoku"). Using underflow water from the Yoshino River system nurtured by Tokushima's rich nature and carefully selected Tokushima-grown rice, it is brewed with careful specialized handwork.
Its taste is characterized by a soft mouthfeel and an exquisite balance of umami and sharpness, being Tanrei Karakuchi (light and dry). Along with the atmosphere of the historic brewery, it has been loved locally for a long time as Tokushima's local sake with a deep taste.
