Gakujuro (学十郎) is a brand of Toyokuni Shuzo (豊国酒造) named after the brewery's first-generation founder, Takaku Gakujuro (高久學十郎), and expresses the tradition that has continued since the brewery's founding.
The fifth-generation owner serves as the Toji (master brewer), and from regular sake to premium sake, all are carefully brewed using the funa-shibori (vat-pressing) method, with a sake-making approach that remains faithful to the character of the raw ingredients.
The sake has a matured taste developed through in-cellar management and refrigerated storage, and it is the product of brewing techniques poured in by human hands.
It is a brand imbued with respect for the founder, inheriting the tradition of Toyokuni Shuzo.
