Nagurayama Shuzo

Nagurayama Shuzo, based in Aizu-Wakamatsu City since its founding in 1918, is a representative brewery of Aizu that continues to pursue "beautiful sweetness."
They practice careful brewing using Aizu's rich nature, pure underground spring water, and locally grown sake rice. In particular, their Junmai-style sake "Gekkyu," developed with unique brewing techniques, has earned the highest global acclaim, including the Grand Prix at the National Sake Competition and the "Trophy" (highest award) in the Junmai category at IWC (International Wine Challenge) 2018.
Actively using the Fukushima-developed rice "Yume no Kaori," their sake is characterized by a perfect harmony of gentle aroma, mild sweetness derived from rice, and a clean finish. By merging traditional Aizu strength with the lightness that accompanies modern meals at a high level, they continue to brew sake that moves everyone—from beginners to connoisseurs—to simply say, "It's delicious."
