Inagawa Shuzoten, founded in 1848, is the only remaining brewery in Inawashiro Town, a sincere maker that loves the nature of Bandai.
Its name derives from comparing the essentials of sake—rice to "Ina" (rice plant) and Mount Bandai's underflow to "Gawa" (river)—telling of their resolve to brew "the terroir of Inawashiro itself." Under the philosophy "Brewing is person-building, person-building is community-building," all employees are local natives. They adhere to the height of handmade brewing, described as "cherishing like an infant," passed down through generations.
The flagship brand "Shichijuro" bears the prestigious name inherited by the head of the Shioya family and is an ultimate series specializing in unfiltered Junmai. Its taste, where the clean sweetness of Aizu-grown "Gomangoku" rice and the pure water of Mount Bandai melt together, is proven by the solid technical prowess of consecutive Gold Medals at the National New Sake Awards. It is a brewery where the rich nature of Inawashiro and the warmth of those who love their hometown vividly reside in every drop.
