Fujinoishuzou

Fujinoi Shuzo, founded in the Keio era (1860s), is a traditional brewery located in Shibata City, Niigata Prefecture. It has a history of producing sake presented to the Edo Shogunate for generations, and its reliable quality and craftsmanship are still passed down today.
One of the major features of this brewery is the long-standing collaboration with the world-renowned manga artist Rumiko Takahashi, who is from Shibata. Brands with labels decorated with many beloved characters such as 'Urusei Yatsura' and 'Ranma 1/2' became a catalyst for attracting attention not only from fans but also from younger generations and overseas people who are not familiar with sake. While respecting tradition, it is a brewery full of playfulness and passion that proposes new ways to enjoy sake by merging with pop culture. Loving local nature, it continues to brew warm sake that accompanies the hearts of drinkers from the rich water and rice of Shibata.
