"Miyama" Kyodo Shuzo Co., Ltd. is a brewery located in Higashi Sakai-cho, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City, as part of the Gekkeikan Group.
Established in August 1970 when Gekkeikan (then Okura Shuzo) acquired all shares of Fushimi Tsuru Shuzo. The main brand "Miyama" symbolizes the sacred Mount Fuji, aiming for an elegant and refined sake quality.
Since its founding, sake has been brewed at various Gekkeikan production facilities, and in 1979, they received a gold award at the National New Sake Competition, demonstrating a track record of high-quality sake brewing. After the 1995 Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, production was consolidated at Matsuyama Shuzo, and currently they supply stable quality sake through an untaxed alcohol transfer contract with Gekkeikan.
Located in the Higashi Sakai-cho area where the traditional sake brewing atmosphere of Fushimi remains, they continue reliable sake brewing as a member of the Gekkeikan Group, inheriting traditional brewing techniques and quality control systems.
