Yasuoka Shuzojo

Yasuoka Shuzojo is a sake brewery located in Haki Kugimiya, Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and is engaged in traditional sake brewing as a regular member brewery of the Fukuoka Prefecture Sake Brewers Association.
Within the Asakura region, the Haki district is located in the upper basin of the Chikugo River, a land suitable for sake brewing blessed with clear streams and a rich natural environment.
The Haki district has long been known as a thriving area for fruit cultivation, characterized by an environment blessed with high-quality water and rich soil. The brewing water used for sake brewing is groundwater sourced from the underground water of the Chikugo River system, and the soft water quality unique to this region is reflected in the sake quality. The Asakura region is one of Kyushu's leading granaries, having a locational advantage of being able to utilize locally produced sake brewing rice.
The flagship brand "Asakiku" is a brand name combining "Asa" from Asakura and the auspicious "Kiku" (joy/long time), expressing the attitude of sake brewing rooted in the community. In the quiet environment of the Haki district, they continue careful sake brewing while protecting traditional methods, and are loved mainly by locals.
Utilizing the clear water of the upper Chikugo River basin and the blessings of nature called the rich granary of Asakura, as a brewery practicing community-based sake brewing, they support the local sake culture of the Chikugo region as a member of the Fukuoka Prefecture Sake Brewers Association.
