Ueda Zenjiro Shoten was a brewery formerly based in Futaba, Fukushima, which sent out high-caliber local sake named "Tennozan" to the world. Within the warm climate and rich nature of the Hamadori region, they continued brewing for generations, staying close to the lives of local people.
The signature brand "Tennozan," fitting its powerful name, featured a satisfying taste that firmly brought out the umami of rice. It was long loved as a companion for evening drinks that highlighted local seafood. However, due to the 2011 earthquake and subsequent nuclear accident, many areas of Futaba District faced unprecedented hardships, and Ueda Zenjiro Shoten was forced to close down amidst those rough waves.
Although the light of brewing has been extinguished, the memory of "Tennozan" once brewed under the sky of Futaba is still engraved in people's hearts as a precious legacy telling the history and culture of the hometown.
