Ide Shuzo is a brewery located in the center of Ureshino Onsen, famous as one of Japan's top three skin-beautifying hot springs. The founder, Kichitaro Ide, named it "Toranoko" (Tiger's Child) with the wish that "A tiger's love for its child is deep. May it be loved like that tiger's child, drunk for a long time, and its name widely known like a tiger running a thousand miles." It has a unique style where all brewers are tea farmers who cultivate Ureshino tea from spring to autumn and concentrate on sake brewing only in winter. It has a history loved by literary figures, such as the haiku poet Santoka Taneda who wrote in his diary, "Drank Toranoko to my heart's content, it is excellent." "Junmai Toranoko" won the Grand Prize in the Junmai category at the Northern Kyushu Three Prefectures Sake Contest.
