Baba Shuzo Honten was a brewery formerly located in Namie Town, Futaba, Fukushima, walking alongside regional history and people's joy. Namie Town was a region where brewing thrived from ancient times, blessed with a warm climate facing the Pacific and pure water.
Baba Shuzo Honten brewed brands like "Saburo," which stayed close to the regional daily life, and "Tanoshimi" (written as 樂實), imbued with the wish to make joy bear fruit, and was loved as an indispensable existence for local residents' evening drinks and celebratory occasions. However, due to the 2011 earthquake and nuclear accident, the entire town was designated as an evacuation zone. While they sought a way to restart during the long years of evacuation, they eventually dissolved in 2019 with much regret.
The gentle taste once brewed by the Namie terroir is still engraved in people's memories as a precious page conveying the warmth of the hometown.
