Aumont Shuzo, founded in 1790, is a historical brewery located in the center of Shibata City, Niigata Prefecture. Formerly known as 'Ichishima Shuzo,' it changed its name to the current one, bearing the name of its flagship brand, to strengthen its brand power. It inherits the tradition of the Ichishima family, who were one of the city's leading wealthy farmers.
The brand 'Aumont' (Omon), named based on inspiration gained from studying in Europe, contains the brewery's challenging spirit of pursuing new values while respecting tradition. It is also known for producing Japan's first female brewer technician and has played a pioneering role in the industry. In recent years, it has been transmitting sake not only as something to 'drink' but as a 'culture to enjoy with all five senses' by developing the experiential and stay-type brewery resort 'Gokaibishi.' Based on more than 230 years of history, it is a transformative brewery that continues to create next-generation sake experiences.
