Machida Shuzoten

Machida Shuzoten, located in the Komagata district of Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, is a historic brewery currently led by its 5th generation owner, Masaya Machida, and his wife.
Notably, this brewery is one of the rare establishments where the sake is crafted by a female master brewer (Toji), bringing a delicate and precise touch to their production.
Their traditional brand, "Seiryo," meaning "to receive pure sacred sake," has been a local favorite in Maebashi for over a century.
Using soft underground water from the Tone River, they produce sake characterized by a gentle, clear, and elegant flavor profile.
In recent years, their limited-edition label "Machida Shuzo" has gained explosive popularity across Japan for its fresh and vibrant quality.
