Narutaki Shuzo was established through the merger of three sake breweries. Including the history of its predecessor, Taiko Shuzo, it has a history of over 300 years. The brewery is located at the site of Karatsu City's famous water "Kanda Ochanomizu". This water is a legendary spring water said to have been used by Toyotomi Hideyoshi to have Sen no Rikyu make tea. When deciding the location for the new brewery, this place was chosen as a result of seeking the "best water", which was prioritized above all else. With the motto "First rice, second water, and third technique", it aims for sake with a soft mouthfeel and smooth finish. Its Daiginjo sake has won the Gold Award 14 times at the Annual Japan Sake Awards. Its representative brands include "Jurakutaiko", "Taki", and "Kokaratsu".
