Hachinohe Shurui Co., Ltd. Gonohe Factory is located in the town of Gonohe, Sannohe District, Aomori Prefecture. Its history began when the Miura family transitioned from koji production to sake brewing.
Under the wartime Corporate Consolidation Order, it was merged into Hachinohe Shurui and became the Gonohe Factory.
Led by Hirofumi Uwai, a master brewer of the Nanbu Toji guild, the brewery crafts sake using soft water from the Mt. Hakkoda spring system, Aomori-grown sake rice, and the famous No. 10 yeast.
Its flagship brand is "Jokyu." Another popular product is "Gonohe no Donberi," a Junmai Nigori (cloudy) sake characterized by its refreshing sweetness followed by a slightly dry finish.
