美丈夫は坂本龍馬という土佐の歴史上の有名人物からインスピレーションを得て、「美しい立派な男性」のイメージで名付けられました。美丈夫という名前は、容姿の美しい男性を指し、「美男子」の同義語です。
代表銘柄として浜川商店の主力となっており、料理を引き立てる芳醇で華やかな味わいが特徴です。純米大吟醸「美丈夫 舞」は、土佐の一本釣りのまちで丹精こめて造られた地酒として知られています。
