Situated at the foot of Mount Haruna, they craft their sake using the mountain's pure underground water.
While founded as "Chosei," the name was changed to "Osakazuki" (Grand Sake Cup) after an ancestor returned safely from a diplomatic mission to America led by Shogunate official Kozukenosuke Oguri and celebrated with a large sake cup.
The brewery has achieved unprecedented success for Gunma, winning first place at the Regional Taxation Bureau's sake competition and receiving gold at the International Wine Challenge (IWC).
