"Retro PoRice Hannan" is an innovative brand created by Naniwa Shuzo, Osaka's oldest local sake brewery, to connect the history and future of Hannan City.
The name is a coined word combining "Retro" (ancient), "Rice," and "Polis" (city), symbolizing the revival of ancient rice, which once supported this region, using modern techniques. Released to commemorate the registration of the "Katsuragi Shugen" Japan Heritage, this sake features a new sensation of sweet and sour fruity flavor, reminiscent of high-quality plum wine.
Its modern charm, which overturns fixed ideas about sake, makes one want to enjoy it in a wine glass. It is a drop achieved only by a brewery with 300 years of tradition, where respect for history and an aggressive stance have come to fruition.
