Horikawa Shuzoten was a brewery in Sakuragawa City (formerly Iwase Town), Ibaraki Prefecture, founded in 1885 (Meiji 18). Named after the famous cherry blossom spot known as "Yoshino in the west, Sakuragawa in the east," they brewed the representative brand "Sakuragawa."
Located in front of Iwase Station on the JR Mito Line, it featured a magnificent warehouse made of Oya stone. Currently, in-house brewing has ended, but its history and brand remain in the memory of the region.
It was a brewery that was loved by local people for a long time, formerly also conducting retail as a "Sake Expert."
